Payment for services offered should be made at any branch of the Bank of Nova Scotia using the payment voucher available at the Nursing Council.
Effective October 10, 2016. Fees for verification of licences are as follows
Locally Trained - US$150.00 or the Jamaican equivalent (processing time: maximum of 21 work days)
Foreign trained - US$200.00 or the Jamaican equivalent (processing time: maximum of 21 work days)
Express Service - an additional US$50.00 or the Jamaican equivalent (processing time: maximum of 7 work days)
This serves to advise the public that effective October 10, 2016, there will be an increase in the fees that the Council charges for the services that are offered to nurses and midwives. Below are the services that will be impacted:
THE NURSING COUNCIL OF JAMAICA WITHDRAWS THE APPROVAL STATUS OF THE INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF THE CARIBBEAN TO OFFER THE NURSING PROGRAMME
The most recent amendment to the Nurses and Midwife Act allows for a fine not exceeding one Million Jamaican Dollars imposed on anyone employing a nurse, a midwife, or enrolled nurse that is not licensed.
