NOTICE: In follow-up to the circular dated October 21, 2015 that was sent to Health Care and Training Institutions in Jamaica, effective January 13, 2016 all late Biennial Renewal applications will incur a penalty fee of $4000.00 and an additional $100 per day after the expiry date of your last licence. 
 
Penalty Fees
1 day -12 months - $4000+$100 daily up to a maximum of $10,000
1 yr -2 yrs - $4000+$100 daily up to a maximum of $20,000
2 yrs -4 yrs - $4000+$100 daily up to a maximum of $30,000
over 4 yrs  - $4000+$100 daily up to a maximum of $40,000
 
Please note fees cover single and multiple licences and are retroactive to January 1, 2016. The penalty fee is not inclusive of the cost of renewal, it is ADDITIONAL to the cost of renewal. Applications that incur a penalty fee will not a have a licence produced until payment is submitted. Fees are subject to change without notice. 
 

Due to security concerns, the Council does not accept cash payments at our offices.
Payment for services offered should be made at any branch of the Bank of Nova Scotia using the payment voucher available at the Nursing Council.

Verification Fees
Fees for verification of licences are as follows
Locally Trained - US$100.00 or the Jamaican equivalent (processing time: maximum of 21 work days)
Foreign trained - US$150.00 or the Jamaican equivalent (processing time: maximum of 21 work days)
Express Service - US$50.00 or the Jamaican equivalent (processing time: maximum of 7 work days)

In order to facilitate the smooth processing of the Biennial Renewal Process and our services offered by the Council, nurses are reminded of the following facts. Personal Information: Ensure that all personal information is completed as outlined on the form Key areas include:

  • The Tax Registration Number (T.R.N) is especially important as the application cannot be processed without it
  • The registration number of the application. e.g. RGN , RM ,EAN, RMN is needed to verify the status of the applicant - Include a cell number for ease of communication - Last renewaI period to determine the period of licensure - Place of employment - To update our records
